Michael Woodhead :: Accompanist

    Michael WoodheadMichael Woodhead has been playing music most of his life but after forty years or so in medicine, he now has the time to take it more seriously.   For the past seven years or so he has been the resident accompanist to the Uttoxeter Choral Society as well as being, for several years, the principal bassoonist in the Stafford Sinfonia, a symphony orchestra specialising in music of the Classical era.

    He was actively involved in all the musical activities at school and at Pembroke College, Cambridge and later had a central role in all the rude pantomimes at Imperial College Medical School.

    Being musically self taught, his claim to be an organist is an embarrassment though he finds it ever comforting to feel that the sheer potential volume of the instrument can outdo that of any of his professional colleagues!
